So life is wonderful and in a happy blissful moment you recognize how great it feels to be alive and aligned. And in the next instant, that old gnawing feeling tightens it grip on your happy place and reminds you to not feel too happy because something bad will happen – either to yourself or your loved ones. Sound familiar?
I had the same thought for many years and have noticed so many of my clients have the same issue. Here is how I changed my perspective and was able to release that old limiting belief…
I became aware that the thought came up whenever I was really happy and wondered where I had picked it up.
I got curious about it – why would I hold this statement as something true?
“I shouldn’t feel bliss for too long in case something bad happened to my family”
I realized that my conscious adult beliefs conflicted with the statement and I was clearly at cross-purposes here. My ego clearly had some fear issues around feeling blissful!?! And suddenly it dawned on me….
If our egos job is to keep us safe in our comfort zones and the glass ceiling is shattered in the vibration of gratitude and bliss. As soon as we reach a blissful state, even for the briefest moment, our ego leaps up with resistance – if we were to move into this state with more frequency, the projection of our lives would be aligning to a higher frequency and every-thing in our external world would change (Our external worlds are a reflection of what is really going on inside so when our vibration shifts and the reflection changes, everything in our external worlds also change)
The ego will scrape the bottom of any barrel to come up with old childhood fears and bargaining behavior to throw into the mix – just as long as you snap yourself out of the bliss state as quickly as possible and avoid changing…even if you really desire change.
So, now that you are aware this, here is how to get around the limiting fear…
Remind yourself that you are an energetic being and every-thing is energy. As part of the mass consciousness, your vibrational state affects all those around you. When you worry about others, energetically you put a dark cloud around the very people you are trying to lift up so the greatest gift you can give them is to be at the highest vibration possible. So your happiness and bliss really serves you and those you love.
The real fear is change itself and boils down to 3 main issues – Who will I be if I change into this happy person? What if I don’t like the new me? What if no one else likes the new me?
Yet, the real truth about change is that when we change we don’t lose ourselves, just the parts of us that are holding us back. We lose our fear issues. We lose self-sabotaging behavior. We lose judgement and triggers.
With inspired change we gain clarity. We gain empowerment. We gain joy and bliss!
Next time your mind chatter brings this fear up, send yourself and your loved ones love and share your bliss with them! You will soon find that the old fear of tempting fate stops showing up.
